When you think “Green” do you also think “Fashionable” or “Stylish”?  Probably not, but hold on to that judgement until you see these sustainable wooden sunglasses for the 2012 season. There are some incredible designs from the company Waiting For The Sun. Yes, of course there are other designs under other labels that are also great – but check them all out because they are all so gorgeous.

Sustainable Wooden Sunglasses

The French designers ‘Waiting For The Sun’…

…offers a range of exquisite state-of-the-art sunglasses combining lightness, comfort, quality and aesthetic appeal. Their line of goods are solely made of natural tea wood and bamboo simply to reduce the ecological footprint.

One of the styles they have for this season include this vintage frame made of tea wood and features brown UV lenses and silver tone hinges. (more here)

And here are another incredible design from Louis Vuitton:

Some great craftsmanship went into these, combining the wooden frame with an inner metal frame, holding the lenses. The sunglasses come in two colorways and should release soon at LV stores around the globe.

Trendy, interesting and unique, you are sure to turn a few heads in these frames. I was really surprised to find so many great styles of sustainable wooden sunglasses. Of course I know that there are many people concerned about the environment and all, but I thought that there might be sunglasses made from recycled plastic etc. But hey! These wooden sunglasses are really great for the environment and also great for your look.

What do you think of these great sunglasses? Would you try a pair or do you already own a pair of wooden sunglasses? Let us know what you think on our Facebook page or in the comments section below!

Interestingly different. That’s what I’m saying about the Pal Zileri Beautiful sunglasses.  That’s not to say that they are not beautiful…it’s just that they are certain to turn heads when you wear them, so you’d better be sure you are ready to be looked at like that. They make a statement and they let the world know you love Pal Zileri designs, no matter what form they come in. Take a look to see what I mean.

Pal Zileri “Beautiful” Sunglasses

Now, that said and all fun aside, Pal Zileri…

…designs with a suave, sophisticated man in mind, and the clothes in this boutique, which range from perfectly cut suits and jackets to classically styled overcoats, reflect this. (Global-Blue.com)

This certainly seems to be true as we take a look at some of the other Pal Zileri sunglasses in which the elegance and sophistication are easy to see.

Delicately patterned along the sides with etched stripes, the enduring charm of this sunglasses reflects a precise alchemy of old and new that underscores Pal Zileri’s everlasting appeal. (more here.)

Vintage with a modern twist…that does seem to be the goal and idea behind many of the designs. They are different, unique sunglasses that are not for the feint of hart. But they are, nonetheless, Pal Zileri beautiful sunglasses!

Head on over to our Facebook page and share what you love about sunglasses. Do you like designs that are ‘out there’ or more demure frames? Let us know!

Jackie O. Sunglasses

One of the most beloved and returned to looks in sunglasses are the large style of Jackie O. Sunglasses. A favorite ‘go-to’ piece that has helped many a trendy woman save face, the large frame should be selected carefully so that it does not go overboard…but get the right size and shape and these substantial frames will do the trick every time!  The two shapes that Jakie Onassis made famous were a slightly edged round shape and a more square shape.  Either way, they are the essence of chic sunglasses.

Jackie O. Sunglasses

Who hasn’t seen pictures similar to this one of the beautiful and stylish Jackie O.?  The modern renditions of her favored sunglasses keep the feel of her cool and upscale look.

Eva Mendes rocks these Jackie O. sunglasses!

ShoppingBlog.com says that Nina Ricci…

…in association with eyewear manufacturer L’Amy America, has relaunched the classic sunglasses worn by former First Lady Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis. The sunglasses are an exact recreation of the pair seen in a photo of Jackie taken on January 30, 1978 during the Robert F. Kennedy Pro Celebrity Tennis Tournament.

In keeping with the spirit of the original frame, the NR3203, originally created by Nina Ricci in the late 1970s, is designed and manufactured in France. (more here)

So when large and glamorous is what you need, you can’t go wrong with a pair of Jackie O. sunglasses. They take your look beyond and add a clean sophistication that is head turning.

Jennifer Lopez Sports Sunglasses With Gradient Lenses

A trend that seems to come around is that of the gradient lens. Now, as I already said, it’s not a new way to go with sunglasses, but it can be made fresh with some love and creativity from designers.  As we see here, Jennifer Lopez sports sunglasses with gradient lenses and looks her diva best doing so.  With great colors and some nice details, the gradient lens is back!

Jennifer Lopez Sports Sunglasses With Gradient Lens

Whether it’s the above Bvlgari Acetate Emerald sunglasses with grey gradient lenses or these Gucci classic aviator sunglasses – the gradient lens looks fierce. Why is that, do you think? Is it the ‘almost’ hidden eyes that makes these so alluring and attractive? What ever it is, when done right, it brings a lightness to the face that is unique and different. I guess that’s why this trend resurfaces every few years with a new twist of some kind.  Now if only we could all do it with the attitude of JLo, we’d be set. I admit it, Jennifer Lopez sports sunglasses with gradient lenses in just about the perfect way…with frames that are eye catching and sun kissed hair all around.  Well done!

Erdem Round Sunglasses

Fresh and a little geeky, this season’s Erdem round sunglasses are just what the doctor ordered. With a different twist, these Erdem sunglasses really help to accentuate your outfit and bring attention to your face. They are colorful and interesting. If you suddenly start to feel yourself humming your favorite Beatles tune, don’t be surprised. These sixties inspired babies tend to have that effect!

Erdem Round Sunglasses

Introduce a little Beatles mania to your look this summer with a round frame. Try a thick coloured or patterned frame for a completely original look, or keep it classic with a thin metallic style a la John Lennon. (Via blog.brandsexclusive.com.au)

Are these glasses fun, or what? Grown up fun, that is! I also imagine that we will be seeing a lot more from Erdem as the designer was one of three nominated for the very first British Fashion Award “New Establishment accolade - which recognises designers who have created a new movement in British fashion and a “sustained” impact on the way the country’s women dress. These three designers were chosen for their impressive London Fashion Week shows, their business growth, their prevalence on the red carpet and the international headlines driven by their collections.” (Vogue.co.uk)

We say bring on the Erdem round sunglasses, and any other sunglasses they decide to design. We love them!

Karen Walker Quirky Sunglasses

We are going to take a little walk down memory lane before getting to the current season of Karen Walker quirky sunglasses. The reason for the stroll is to pay a little homage to the creativity of not only the sunglasses themselves, but of the idea for the different campaigns that Walker puts together.  With a great sense of style and the ability to not take herself too seriously, she certainly deserves a nod for being able to make us stand up and take notice, laughing all the while.

Karen Walker Quirky Sunglasses

We are going to begin with her 2009 season entitled “Here Comes The Sun” and it certainly takes a bite out of the vampire rage going on.  All the models sported their ivory fangs for the campaign and it was pretty interesting to see these vamps having a laugh.

CoolHunting.com says:  The New Zealand-based designer’s unpretentious attitude is a common thread in all of her designs, since they began gracing the major runways a few years ago. An astute mix of nostalgia, luxury and street, her stylized but casual clothing is an easy way to have fun with fashion without trying too hard. (read more here)

These are from another campaign entitled “Deep Freeze” – I’m not sure what that has to do with all of the models sporting tears on their cheeks, but it is intriguing.

And these blue beauties are from this season’s line called “Brand New Critters”.  The entire line has been photographed on broom ends and mop heads. What a way to showcase Karen Walker quirky sunglasses, indeed!

Are you a Karen Walker fan?  Are you one of the brave souls to sport a pair and enjoy the looks you get from passersby? If so, let us know in the comments below or give a shout out on our Facebook page. We’d love to hear from you!

Want to know what is new and fresh for this year’s sunglasses?  Many designers are putting some great twists on the trend sunglasses for 2012, the Cat Eye.  An oldie-but-goodie, the cat eye is an eye-wear favorite from the fifties and sixties and has enjoyed a particular acceptance since then because of the quirky way it helps to frame the face.  The designs that are being seen for 2012 have some added twists and turns that help to keep them interesting and even have a bit of an edgy feel to them.  Take a look and see if you don’t agree!

Trend Sunglasses for 2012 – The Cat Eye

With gradient lenses or awesome details on the eyebrow or at the corners, these trend sunglasses for 2012, the cat eye, are really offering a new perspective. A little fierce, a little fun and a lot of attitude, you are sure to get some attention when you are wearing a pair of this season’s cat eye sunglasses.

What makes these so fun?  The first pair sport a gold tip at each of the outer top corners which will help to catch the light and make you sparkle! The second pair listed here are from Chanel and well…you can see that the details are just amazing.  And this last pair is from Tilly and are just so sleek and clean as to be irresistible.  They can really turn up the volume on any outfit – and isn’t that the point of accessories this season, anyway? I think so!
